TIPSTER: Ghetto scanning using a digital camera:
There's no need to buy a scanner to make use of the DigitaLIZA: just digitalize your negatives the ghetto way!
That's how to do it:
- Load your film into the DigitaLIZA hold it towards a bright light source (like your window during day time or even your computer screen) and point your digital camera at it.
- Take some pictures of the negative and try to get rid of reflections or birds flying by.
- Now all you have to do is open the photos with the photo application of your choice, invert the negative and set the black and white points.
Voilà, that's it! You now have your negative ghetto scanned on your computer using the DigitaLIZA, a good aid for keeping the negative clean from dust and dirt and holding it properly in position for photographing it.
However, ghetto scanned photos are of course not suitable for large scale prints or anything else than quickly looking at your shots on your monitor. For complete control over colour, tone, saturation and resolution you need to use a photo scanner.
