Bio:

I'm a 42 year old hardcore creative visual artist who goes by the name of scootiepye they also call me Helen ... I explore in many creative photographic directions - with zero limitations. I have a true long lived passion for lomography and I'm based in Newcastle Upon Tyne UK. I have my own hair and teeth and I like the smell of wet autumn leaves.

  • How long have you been a Lomographer? How did you get into it?

I started back in 2000 with my first lomo camera which was a yellow super sampler. I saw a friend of mine with the oddest camera I had ever seen I really had not seen anything like it before so I ordered one straight away! That's where it all began I still have the camera and it still works..

  • Write a Lubitel acrostic (each letter in Lubitel spells out a new word)

LIVING ULTIMATELY BRILLAINT IMAGINATIVE TRENDY EXCITING LIFE Thanks Dozzy Bingo!

  • The strangest, funniest, or hands-down greatest photographic/Lomographic encounter that you have ever had.

Now this is pretty tough to answer, as I have had so many over the years now one of my favourites took place in China at the lomo congress where a whole heap of taxi cabs were ordered to take the occupants at the hotel and take us anywhere we wanted to go I was travelling with Rowena from Australia a tip top Ozzie bird with loads of sparkle and fun; we hung out the back windows of the cab sitting on the side of the windows which we rolled down looking at each other across the roof screaming our heads off wearing Russian hats and just going totally wild. The driver was speechless. I laughed so hard I was almost sick - it was so much fun.

  • If your photos shown here could have a soundtrack of three songs, what would they be (song title & artist please).I

The Hives Hate to say I told you so Suede Beautiful Ones Toast Tori Amos

  • What should one think about when taking a self portrait?

This is who I am !

  • How can the Lubitel change your approach to photography or life in general?

It makes you look maybe a little more closely because you can if you wish use the view finder more should you wish to frame a shot I tend to do a bit off both sometimes I don't even bother to flip open the top. Plus you bound to strike up some interesting conversations as people look and stare at this box of retro genius.

  • What kind of person is most likely to be a Lubitel Lover? Tell us all about them.

I think anyone is likely to be a Lubitel Lover maybe ones with moustaches and who wear stripped jumpers - hhhmmmmmm possibly persons who have a love of cake, eat spaghetti and love to jump up and down on one foot. I was also thinking likely other Lubitel Lovers would include those who can tie their own shoes laces.

  • If you could be anywhere, doing anything, right now V where would it be and what would you do?

Black Rock City, with the heat & dust, heading out into the dessert seeking adventures for the next moment to move my soul.

  • What is the best frame of mind for excellent Lubitel shots? What should your attitude be?

Think of the freedom of the moment and be aware that you're capturing a second in your life that will never ever happen again.

  • Your advice to future Lubitel shooters.

Try as many different films that you can get your hands on try shooting on the 'b' or bulb setting for some interesting shots, which will over expose during the day many times and add light strips and give an ambience aura glow almost when placed on a tripod or held very very still at night.

  • Your best photo so far, why?

This one because of the story that goes with it which is a personal memory recall to me and I do really like the shot of a field in which thousands of snow geese had gathered and who flew off as soon as I got too close to them K makes me smile to think about it still.
