Viva la Film!
Film is a beautiful thing. And it’s not just us Lomographers who are into it. The chaps and chapettes! at Flickr also feel moved by emulsion, so much so that they have teamed with Lomography to show the world that analogue photography is more alive and true-grit than ever. As you know Lomography is creating the biggest ever Lomowall at this year’s Photokina to show once and for all that “The Future is Analogue”. Flickr is showing its support for film photography by hosting the group “Film Guild”, where everyone who has love for film can upload their best analogue shots.

The Lomowall in Cologne will exhibit more than 100,000 analogue pictures. A section of the wall has been reserved for the collaboration and will contain thousands of images coming from Flickr-users and Lomographers who upload to the Flickr hosted group . It is the first time Lomography and Flickr have collaborated on a project together and we are excited to unite these two creative photo-communities. It’s the stuff fairytales and Lomowalls are made of…
How to take part…
- Go to Flickr Guild group on Flickr:
- Upload up to five of your best analogue shots per day. (size: 1800 minimum on one side)
- Lomography selects the best images to appear in a special Flickr X Lomography section of the "Future is Analogue" Lomowall at the Photokina 2008.
Remember to upload by the Deadline: Monday 25th August 2008
Flickr hosts an evening at the Photokina
If you still need more encouragement to pack your camera bags and travel to the Photokina in Cologne for a few days of unabashed photo-passion - an evening of Flickr hosted fraternising could be the clincher. The Flickr Night will be a chance for Lomographers and Flickr members to rub shoulders and get to know each other against the backdrop of guest bands and DJs.
