Accessories
Whether you watch your movies through the LomoKinoScope or record your films together with the LomoKino Smart Phone Holder, LomoKino accessories open up all kinds of possibilities.
The LomoKinoScope
Available in the LomoKino & LomoKinoScope Package, the LomoKinoScope viewer allows you to watch your developed LomoKino movies in the most analogue way possible – Just load your movie rolls into the film containers, put them in the LomoKinoScope, rotate the viewing crank and watch your LomoKino movie unfold before your very eyes! Read the LomoKinoScope guide below and order your LomoKino & LomoKinoScope Package for the complete analogue movie-making experience.
Choosing your film
The best way to get movies you can easily watch through the LomoKinoScope is to shoot you LomoKino roll using Color Slide film and to develop it regularly using E-6 chemicals – Using this kind of film and development, you’ll get positives which can instantly be viewed using the LomoKinoScope Viewer. If you shoot using slide film and cross-process it, or shoot using Color Negative or Black and White film, you’ll get negatives back from the lab; when you try and view these movies through the LomoKinoScope viewer, the colors will be inverted.
Developing your film
If you want to watch your LomoKino movies through the LomoKinoScope viewer, it’s important to remember to ask your photo lab NOT to cut the negatives. The LomoKinoScope requires the full roll of film for you to watch your movie.
Spooling and storing your developed film in the LomoKinoScope film container
When you get your developed LomoKino film back, it’s a good idea to store it in one of the LomoKinoScope film containers. Here’s how to store them:
- First remove the top cover and take out the container spool inside your Lomography film container.
- Take your film and locate the point where your film begins (there should be an exposed blank length). Holding your container spool with your left hand, place the film beginning into the taking spool slit from the right, emulsion face in. Hook the perforations tightly into the slit (you will see two little hooks in the taking spool).
- With the lid of the container off, roll the film onto the container spool, then put the spool into the Lomography container. Cover the top cover, and it's now ready to be viewed/stored.

Loading the LomoKinoScope Viewer and watching your movie
Here’s how to load and watch movies using the LomoKinoScope:
- First remove the front cover of your LomoKinoScope.
- Place the loaded Lomography film container into the chamber, take the film tongue and insert it into the slit of the LomoKinoScope’s taking spool
- Adjust the frame until you can see a complete frame on the light chamber. You don't need to match the sprockets.
- Close the front cover, start turning the crank anti-clockwise until you reach the first frame. You need to pre-wind the film to the first frame and make it ready to view.
- If the viewer stops in between frames after pre-winding, open the viewer and adjust it slightly until it’s in the correct position. Your film is now ready to be viewed!
- Simply advance the crank and look into the eye-piece! When you have finished a film, it should go back into the film container so that you can load another film immediately
CAUTION: If you notice something unusual when viewing, stop immediately, take out the film and load it again following the above procedure. This will ensure that your film isn’t accidentally damaged.
